Here's a good reason to have a "free" email account. You can even set up your current email account to send your messages to another free account as a back up.
Charter Communications accidentally deleted the contents of 14,000 e-mail accounts. The error occurred as it was deleting inactive accounts. A software bug is believed to be the cause. The e-mail cannot be retrieved. Those affected will receive a $50 credit. (READ MORE)
That sucks! I email myself a lot of things from my phone, much like a digital notepad of sorts (your other post about listmaking) and would be out a lot of information if my Gmail disappeared!
